CNC Machine Shop Quality Inspector (End product Measurement)
This position is becoming available due to retirement. Permanent, full-time position based in our modern machining facility. To use Faro portable measurement arms, and Faro portable laser tracker, to carry out stage and final inspections of machined components. Training can be given in Faro products if you do not have experience. Must also be able to use traditional (manual) measurement equipment. Knowledge of calibration requirements and good engineering practice required.
This position would suit an apprentice-trained (time-served) machine shop engineer. It could be suitable for someone moving into measurement and inspection for the first time in their career.
We are a busy subcontracting facility and we produce a wide range of components, including some complex precision work. This role is working with the Quality Manager and Production Manager to ensure our components comply with clients' specification. It is interesting and varied work, for a range of different sectors including marine, renewables, rail, and defence.
Despite the pandemic we have a strong order book and excellent job security. We have a high level of measures in place to protect employees from virus transmission on site and have been very proactive in managing this.
