Job Description:

This role will be to work with our contract engineers, contracts officer, and planning engineer. The apprentice will support estimating and engineering planning, and will learn how to review enquiries, produce estimates of machining operations, and produce route cards which give details of machining methods.


The apprenticeship will also result in a qualification in Customer Service with training provided by Middlesbrough College.  Once complete, it could lead to a permanent role in our technical staff team.  It will include 20% off the job training time and there will be a range of formal and informal training included.


Person Description:

This role could be suitable for someone who has completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, and wants a new route for progression out of the shop floor environment.  It could also suit someone who has worked for some time in machining and wants to retrain and develop new skills.


The successful candidate will have knowledge of machining processes, have excellent IT and communication skills, and have a professional manner. 

Skills and Qualifications: Essential

Experience in mechanical engineering

Ability to use Microsoft software

Skills and Qualifications: Desirable

Machinist apprenticeship and/or experience working as a machinist
